Ingredients:

  • 500g Meys Meats Chicken Breast (2kg for $5 here)
  • 1 cup jasmine rice
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger (grated)
  • 1 tbsp honey (optional)
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 1 spring onion (sliced, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Cook the rice: Rinse the jasmine rice and cook according to package instructions.
  2. Steam the broccoli: While the rice cooks, steam the broccoli for 3–4 minutes until tender but still vibrant.
  3. Prepare the chicken: Slice the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Cook the chicken: Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until golden brown (about 5–7 minutes).
  5. Add sauce: Lower the heat, add garlic, ginger, soy sauce, teriyaki sauce, and honey. Stir well and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Serve: Plate the rice, top with teriyaki chicken, and add steamed broccoli on the side. Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onions.
